[...] I’ve always loved the letter “A” displayed on things. Am I the only one – or do some of you love your initials? I liked the book The Scarlet Letter because she got to wear an “A” on her chest (just kidding, I love that book, but, um, that letter isn’t because of her name). These charm pendants spotted at Ruby Jean are absolutely beautiful, and if you love your initials (or know someone who does), you need to make a few. The brass rings give it a special touch. I want to make two “A”s and wear. Do you want to make some too? Visit the tutorial here. [...]

Don't worry, Angelina, I don't know how to do a collage either! I try in Picasa and then I lose it and can't find it again. These are great! You are right ~ they will remember that you made these for them and wrote their initials with your own hand. What a great gift!
I can't do collages either! I love it, I have never used dimensional medium…I see my "C" is there! I am going to have to think of something to try the dimensional stuff on! Good Job Missy! If you figure out how to do collages on the Mac let me know!

Ruby Jean- Those are just the most adorable things ever! Ever!! You have beautiful writing skills, too, which really puts them over the top. Now..tell the truth…did you say any naughty words when you dropped that little sucker?;>) They are just gorgeous!
OC Cottage just did a tutorial on making collages…I have not tried it yet but I am planning to when I have an extra bit of time. xo Diana
Ok, really love these…especially the hand written part, so very sweet! So I tried to follow, but I am having "technical difficulties". I'll try again

Aren't these just the prettiest little things!? Thanks for that detailed tutorial too!

Fantastic! I was so excited when you started showing how to make them with the plastic rings since I don't have fancy schmancy vintage brass ones. I do keep that vintage Mod Podge around in bulk, though, and now I'll look for the filler podge or whatever it's called.
These are really, really lovely, and I'm so glad you showed how to make them.
Those are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
Great job sweet Angelina, I know what you mean about trying to take photos with one hand and hold the craft with the other, giggle. great job xo
Beyond brilliant!
Fun & Fabulous…. I think I will have to give this a try, I wonder if you could use that with a tiny photo inside?!?
Thanks for sharing
Ruby Jean you clever girl you. Those are fabulous! xo Nancy
Adorable! I can think of all kinds of my junk…I mean supplies…that I have hoarded…I mean collected that can be used to make this. If you leave your podge stuff upside down all of the air bubbles are at the other end. Thanks for the tutorial.
Audrey
That is so cute. I loved the tutorial..you are very patient indeed. I could not do this. You really did a nice job!

Great tutorial!! Yikes, holding the charm with one hand and the camera with the other. I am certain my pictures would be so blurry you wouldn't even be able to tell what is was. Well done!

I don't have any fancy machines either, Ruby Jean, well, except my computer. But I love that the initials are in your own handwriting. Isn't that Dimensional Magic fun! Your charms came out… charming
I love this too! Where did you find those cool brass rings? I'd love to have some of those, but I have some silver ones I got in a package of jewelry findings at a yard sale. I think those would work too. Thanks for the tute! and I can't collage either

Hi,
I love your charm pendant tutorial – thank you so much. I wonder if you could tell me what the vintage rings were originally for – or where you think I might find them….. thanks!

Mod Podge Amy recently posted..Happy New Year!
This is lovely, I am just learning all the uses for Mod Podge, back in the 70′s there was pretty much one use (decoupage) and one product! Your beautiful rings made me once again think that when I look at something, I need to think outside the box and see what else it can be used for before casting it away! Thanks
RUBY! I’m definitely making these!! OMG… they are so cool! I will have to add it to my to-do list. Oh dear, so many things on the list. But, I am inspired. Beautiful! Beautiful!
So pretty! I love things like this too! Thanks for sharing.
I just love your charms. I Can’t wait to make a bunch for gifts. I just don’t have any idea where to get the rings. Are they curtain rings for cafe curtains?? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for inspiring me to be creative.
)
Hello Vivian, Thank you for the Sweet comment… Yes, these are Vintage cafe/curtain rings… I have collected them over time.. You can find rings in the stores and age them for a Vintage look and feel or scour your Antique stores for some Vintage ones… I hope that helps and would LOVE to see your charms when you do make some…
These are so pretty and precious. I would love to buy a few–do you make them for sale?
Cindy (Prime Beauty) recently posted..Pantene Learn and Earn!
Yes, I do make them for sale on special order… you can email me if your interested..
Hello there; I am not sure you will even read this since this post is so old.. BUT your charms are adorable .. Did you know that you can fill them with resin by taping the back with packing tape or duck tape and sealing it then filling the bezel with resin? You just remove the tape when dry and you have a very sturdy charm to protect your beautiful handwriting. Just thought I would share.
Blessings, Gweny
Hello Gweny,
Thank you so much for stopping in and for such a handy tip.. I haven’t made any charms since the tutorial so I will have to give your method a try..
These are great! I didn’t read all the comments, so I might be repeating a tip for adding the beads, so forgive any duplication.
To easily add the beads: String them on a tread with a bead needle and approximate how many you will need for your project leaving some tread on each end for tails. Having put down some glue or Mod Podge, lay the string around the piece where you want the beads. Then simply pull the thread gently and the beads are where you want them. Easy Peasy!
I know this is an older tutorial, but new to me. I am really into jewelry making now, and will have to try this (as soon as I can round up some circles). Love the look. I’ll post you a pic of my finished result when completed. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome, Carolyn. Can’t wait to see your finished product : )
Love this, Angelina!!!!! (: Gorgeous! xoxo
LOL! Just saw that Kelli was here- oh us Lolly Jane twins are always double-commenting… we each have good taste! (wink) LOL xoxoxo
Amazing charms!
Do u think I could use regular glossy mod podge or white glue?
I don’t have this mod podge where I live. Dont have resin either
