We have been so busy trying to get settled in ( from the move ) and unearthing some fun little treasures.
My husband came in with a black trash bag that was all covered with dust and some NOT so lovely things, and said, ” I think this is full of some old fabric” I quickly tore a whole in the side of the bag and found LOTS of fabric some in great shape and some in not so great shape.
As I continued to dig and rummage through, I finally made my way to the bottom of the bag only to find a white grocery bag all tied up in knots. Inside were these Lovely little Hexagons that I had cut up 11 yrs ago. (YIKES!!!!)
It looks as though my intentions were to make or should I say TRY to make a Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt. Now mind you I am not a quilter, at least not a professional one that is.
Even so this was a very SWEET surprise.
And…
With a baby girl soon on the way
Why not….
Blessings,
Angelina

They would make such a cute quilt. My grandmother was a quilter. Seeing these reminded me of her.

What a fun surprise! I’ve always loved that pattern. My mom started a quilt as you go grandmother’s flower garden years ago. I was fascinated! Now I have got to call her and see what she did with that. I love those florals, and I can’t wait to see the finished project!

Well, you look like you are off to a great start on it with the hexagons already cut out, Angelina! I’m hoping to try one of those rag quilts that I’ve seen recently, but I want to clear up the projects I have going on now. Those fabrics are really pretty and it’s going to make a lovely quilt.

I love the fabric. I’ve never braved a hexie quilt before, but I’m sure it will be beautiful. I’ve never seen one that wasn’t.
