Diy Christmas Tree Sweater Patch

Who doesn’t LOVE a good elbow patch?

I know I do, and what better way to get into the Season with a Christmas Tree Patch.

I used an old sweater from my closet and some green felt I had on hand. Start off by putting your Sweater on and with a piece of chalk mark the space where you want your patches to be. I used a piece of paper and cut it to the length and width that fell in between my chalk marks.  I then drew my Tree on the piece of paper.

I cut my shape out and traced it with chalk onto my felt and cut it out.

I pinned my Tree’s to my Sweater ( if you have help, it works even better )

Using a coordinating thread and some yarn. The yarn I used to slide into the arm hole, to help in keeping the shape. I then stitched my tree into place. You can use Heat and Bond or some sort of no sew adhesive, but because I wanted this to be removable on the off chance that I wanted my brown sweater back to normal :) So I choose to do a light stitching instead of adhering it with a tacky substance.

I think it actually came out Really cute and it is holding up quite well.

So what do you think?

Cute, Huh!!

So go ahead and start digging through your closet and go and make some Patches.

Blessings,

Angelina

This is super cute! I heart it!
I’ve also seen this done using fusible interfacing or tape to avoid sewing it especially if the sweater is delicate….
About to go dig out some tops and sweaters :)
