We have always been a fan of Mr. Putter Books. So when I saw these dish towels on sale ( a while back ) at Target, I knew that they would make a perfect,
“Mr. Putter & Tabby Pick the Pears, Skirt!”
I started out by cutting off all the folded edges.
Then sewed the right sides together of my 3 dish towels
( enclosing all sides, making one skirt )
I then finished my edges with a Serger and Ironed my seems.
I evened out my top and bottom edge. Then cut a 3 inc strip for my waist band and gathered the top of my skirt.
I finished the top edge of my waistband and pressed it over about an inch and a half. Sewed the right sides together of my waistband ends and top stitched leaving about a 3 inch opening for my elastic to go through.
Taking my waistband and skirt, I then pinned right sides together.
Sewed and finished the raw edge. I then put my elastic through and stitched the opening closed.
For the shirt I simply copied one of the pears off of the towel and traced it onto to some heat and bond and ironed it onto my shirt and finished with a zig zag stitch.
We LOVE how it came out and we LOVE having our Mr. Putter & Tabby Pick the Pears, Skirt.

I love your pear outfit made from dish towels! I have the same ones and when I saw them I thought they’d make the cutest outfit, along the same lines of what you did.
