Wow!! I can’t believe it’s already day 3 of the Party. Don’t forget to stop in and visit the other party people!!
Mom4Real, Yesterday on Tuesday, Craftberry Bush, The Polka Dot Closet, Rook No.17, 504 Main, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, A Spoonful of Sugar, and Live Laugh Rowe.
Well today here at JoJo & Eloise, we will be making Pincushions.. Can I get a, Yippee, Yahooo!!!
I know you have been waiting all your life to learn how to make these so today your dream has come true!
So go get some fabric and cut yourself some circles. I used a bowl to make mine. Stitch around your circle and leave an opening for turning and stuffing.
Stuff, Stuff and Stuff some more. Then hand stitch your opening closed.
Now get a WIDE eyed needle and thread it with 5 strands of embroidery floss. I used about a 1- 1 1/2 yards of floss per cushion. Tie a knot at the end and find your center, push your needle ALL the way through until you reach your knot.
Then take your thread and go around to the other side and push your needle through again and pull ALL your embroidery floss through. Do this again opposite your last line.
Do that again and again, always going through your CENTER with the needle.
It will kind of look FUNKY at first… But have no FEAR and keep going.. You will Fluff and Puff it into shape at the end!!
I went around my cushion a total of 8 times. When you get to the last one tie and know with your embroidery floss a few times and then embellish! Oh! Yes, don’t forget to fluff and shape your cushion.
You can add Hearts like I did or you could add buttons, rhinestone pendants or whatever your Fancy!!
Have fun and get Creative!!
They are SWEET aren’t they?
Happy Pincushion Making!!
