Today I am going to be sharing with you, How to make a Burlap Bag.
This bag is So easy and not to mention just plain CUTE!
I started out with some, Medium/Light brown Burlap and Red Gingham fabric for the lining.
All bought at Joann’s.
Using some Plain white paper I drew a Basic shape for my Burlap bag. REALLY, there is no right or wrong. You can draw any shape or size.
Cut your pattern out and place over your fabric.
For reference sake my bag measures: 12″ across the Top, 18.5″ Tall, (straps) 3″wide by 16.5″ long
Cut 2 pieces of Burlap for the Main body of the bag and 2 Pieces for the lining.
Cut 2 Pieces of Burlap for the Straps.
Sew your Burlap Bag pieces RIGHT sides together, from one Corner to the next Corner. Leaving the TOP open.
Do the same thing for the lining ONLY leave a small opening on the BOTTOM rounded edge, for turning right sides out later.
STRAPS: Sew right sides together and leave the ends open for turning. Press with an iron and Top Stitch.
You are going to place RIGHT sides of your Burlap Bag together. Pin your STRAP in between the Lining and Burlap. On each sides.
Sew around the TOP edge of your bag, being sure to catch the Burlap Lining and Strap on the sides.
Turn your Burlap Bag right sides out, through the OPENING in your lining. Stitch your opening closed and ENJOY!

This bag sits and can be worn comfortably on the shoulder.
I added a Red Linen flower pin to accessorize it and think it looks so PERFECTLY cute!
